Meet Michael
INSIGHT BORN OF EXPERIENCE
I have been an educator since 1994. My subjects include U.S. History, Government and Economics. I hold a master’s degree in secondary education. I joined the Half Moon Bay Volunteer Fire Department in 2010 as a way to proactively help my community. Working closely with the CalFire staff has taught me much about the incredibly complex world of fire service. I have a deep sense of respect and gratitude for what the firefighters, engineers, and paramedics do for our community.
I am running for this position to assist the current board members in improving the safety of our community. I will use the insight I have gained as a volunteer to ensure that we have the right equipment, training and staffing levels to meet the needs of our district and the safety of our firefighters. As a member of the board, I plan to provide oversight that will be informed, transparent, and committed to serving the interests of the entire community. I will work hard with the other board members to build consensus and continue to move the district forward.
